This weekend, Integral will take part in a social media boycott from 15:00 BST today to 23:59 BST on Monday 3 May. We hope to help amplify the football community’s message that nobody should have to suffer abuse, racism or harassment on social media because they play, or are involved in professional sport.
Co-founder Integral Sports Management Gary Pettit said: “We’re proud to add our voice to all those across sport who are sending the message that more can, and must, be done to eradicate online hate. As an agency, we are committed to encouraging integrity, trust and honesty within the industry, and the discriminatory abuse that has become all too frequent on social media, should not and will not be tolerated. A unified silence from players and the wider game is a powerful stance to show social media companies that they must do more to prioritise the need for the appropriate legislation.”
